As a pioneer in the european Bologna process, enriched by numerous scientific collaborations around the world, AGROCAMPUS OUEST has for many years made international development a key component in its development.
Through its 2010-2015 strategic plan, the institution is seeking to make an even greater contribution to the construction of a knowledge society and the employability of its graduates.

The strategy involves 4 main elements:

  • Promoting student mobility

The possibilities for student exchanges, both outgoing and incoming, are considerable at AGROCAMPUS OUEST:
- 100% of engineering students at AGROCAMPUS OUEST embark on a period of study or internship abroad, which demonstrates the strength of our international commitment.
- 8% of students on AGROCAMPUS OUEST’s campuses are foreign, coming from all over the world.
This cross-mobility system hinges on 80 cooperation agreements in around forty countries, 8 double degrees and various exchange programmes, including:
- BRAFAGRI (Brazil)
- ARFAGRI (Argentina)
- ERASMUS (Europe)
- OMJ (Mediterranean Office pour Youth)
International mobility among PhD students is also strongly encouraged via research scholarships and joint thesis supervision.

  • Developping cooperation and exchange networks

AGROCAMPUS OUEST has built strong cooperative partnerships in terms of teaching, research, development and engineering, with the support of special networks (with both countries and universities), notably including Agreenium, Université Bretagne Loire (UBL).
Research-lecturers and PhD students thus contribute on a daily basis to the diffusion of French agricultural higher education and research around the world.

  • Supporting the internationalisation of research

Scientific research collaborations are undertaken thanks to the involvement of the institution in European and international research programmes. AGROCAMPUS OUEST’s global attitude to research is reflected in its interest in hosting foreign PhD students and researchers, particularly within the framework of the international Chairs of Excellence programme; joint supervision of theses; visits by our lecturer-researchers to partner university laboratories; the organisation of scientific conferences, and so on.

  • Enhancing professional partnerships at international level

AGROCAMPUS OUEST is committed to an active policy of cross-border professional partnerships. In addition to hosting exchange students and recruiting graduates, companies and research organisations can also call on AGROCAMPUS OUEST for continuous training or assessment activities on their sites around the world.
